I do some drawing too

I keep a pad and pen at hand
to kill time at long lights

I quicksketch the rear ends of cars
or those on curbs set to launch themselves
into what comes next;
the mysterious place our foot lands
when we lean and, stepping, begin
a forward fall

Each snapshot page is the event horizon of a black hole,
each the tail-end of something too real to tell;
but not a single page reveals
into what new world they fell
