Hidden With the Plain

.
when my father died my eyes
swam in tears

when my mother died my eyes
swam in tears

years later on the road to Colrain my eyes
swam in tears

I’d been thinking of them both
on the road to Colrain

a radio’s song blew away a wall
sending a reservoir of tears through a busted dam
which swept over empty land
and for a moment a truth deeper than seas
………..was uncontained:

………..that every day we chink
………..the interstices of nothing with love
………..berming against flood with fog,
………..keeping the hidden buried
………..beneath the plain
