Daily Deeds

common things are difficult to put in deep context,
they grab our mind. they hold it fast.
distracted as we are by now
we don’t look in, we look past

too small to be big they squeeze themselves
between lines suggesting —just hinting as the tale unfolds

too big to be small, they come off as incidental
while they hold a universe in their brief grasp

we go about our daily deeds forgetting
the stupendous thing each contains:
