a moon beams
through Ryder clouds
charred centers
bright rims

bellowing moon above a treeline
opaque as the silhouette of will be

but look awhile and wait, you’ll see
the silhouette’s not all density,
not as hard to understand
as the past you’ve just left
crammed with questions
love & hurt, regret

in this frame:

a column to the left
which I made,
the lintel rake of the roof,
the wall of the house opposite right,
this slab underneath
are improbable
but here they are on
this patio: proof
