what if the horizon is a yes that rings us round
yet is impossible to reach
what if making way toward it is futile but
we can’t help ourselves being seasick of yes
what if no is its center, its hub, and dizziness
or turbulence as we leave its calm, throws us off
what if we’re distracted by comforts or battered
by what the Greeks called “Poseidon”
but what if Poseidon is myth and the sea is real?
………………..and the sea god calls,
…………………………“Yes! Yes!
…………………………here I am,
……………………………come!”
but wild myth’s still on the loose
and keeps us wild,
so our answer is denial that
horizon is our furthest noose
