I’m out the door
forgot my key
time is short
I’m late
but going nowhere
in this keyless state
Tonight the moon
phasing in again
its back to utter reaches
seems for a second
maybe a key or switch
that wants a turn or click
to open or start some thought
I don’t know what
but imminent nonetheless
behind moon’s back
beyond its silver latch
which will —I hope
not too late
open itself with itself
being in one both
key and gate
