Lifelust

.
I harvest lettuce amazed

when its tiny seed was sown
the stuff of lettuce, nascent in soil
pre-lettuce, imminent, to be
plumped by sucked radiance,
the a tiny nut within a husk
startled as I drop seeds
from palmcup

they find themselves
alone in dark folds of dung
driven by pulled by lightlust
to heave and thrust
by chemistry that blows saints away
and leaves wordy scriptures in the dust
