Let It Roll

Out on the edge where the roads are icy
it’s dangerous to move, it’s dangerous to breathe
you can’t turn left, and  you can’t turn righty
you can’t jamb your brakes to check your speed
you gotta let it roll
you’ve gotta let it roll

You are young, and you are mighty
you’ve got forever to do your things
Ah, but every day turns into nighty
just as sure as the wolves do sing
and don’t the sun just roll,
don’t that sun just roll

How fine it is when the way is brighty
how sweet the smell when the lilacs bloom
how smooth the sound, how high the flighty
hanging by a thread under a big balloon
and don’t the earth just roll
don’t this earth just roll

Ah, the doowop singers got their harmonies righty
when their shoes lay down how their feet do glide
they perform as one, no discord, no fighty
you cannot tell where their song divides
they sing four parts and they are whole
four parts and they are whole

Sometimes a man don’t split wrong from righty
and many a woman is just as confused
so don’t think too hard, just keep the truth in sighty
and be sure to sing when you’ve got the blues
and remember, you got a soul
remember, you got a soul

Out on the edge where the roads are icy
it’s dangerous to move, it’s dangerous to breathe
you can’t turn left, and  you can’t turn righty
you can’t jamb your brakes to check your speed
you gotta let it roll
you gotta let it roll
