our cat’s as big as a cougar
but not as lithe
she prey-scans through windows
to her genes’ delight
purina’s her grub, poor thing,
she’d rather mice
she wolf’s her dish (and mate’s)
she is not polite
never runs through the grass after finches
to keep her figure light
she’d rather be free in on road(?)
yes, we think she might
but we keep her safe within
to avoid the chomp of a big car’s bite
