and the graceful boy who touches his side
a second serpentine horn
curling over the boy’s bare head
his nakedness in numinous fog
the bull’s cocked head, almost demure
turned aside,
the black spot on the bull’s face
spread like a continent in
the white sea of its skull
a dark continent surrounding
the deep bay of an eye
—and that golden horn
that fanfaring golden
horn
