—another public murder of a black man by cop
Lynched is an apt term for
what happened to George Floyd.
The only positive light on this is
the event was not celebrated by
a mob of pallid blots; gloating,
smiling, pale and twisted knots
as in the old days but, instead,
was screened and sent
—was witnessed by those
who pled to the cop
to take his knee off Floyd’s
right to breathe
—their guts implored,
Just stop!
