“There is nothing wrong
with turning seventy but
turning seventy.”
–Roshi Bob
It’s been a short long day tight-roping a hair
across a white abyss without care
The light’s been good, fair wind behind
trouble spare, fortune kind
It was a lucky thing to be dropped-off here
in this plentiful place with food and air
and days as short as a beat’s thump
Now the rope-hair’s tint beneath my feet
is the color of cloud on a summer day
and the silence loud as I fall away
